Need some memory? Here is just the thing for you, as G.Skill has announced a massive DDR5 memory kit. It offers a massive VRAM capacity: 256 GB, all via four modules of 64 GB of memory each! In terms of frequency, the kit operates at 6000 MT/s, all with a CL32, the sweet spot for AM5 platforms.
G.Skill: a Trident Z5 Neo RGB kit with 256 GB RAM!
The memory kit in question belongs to the Trident Z5 Neo RGB series. The program features memory modules equipped with a heatsink incorporating a light bar on top. Beware, however, of the height of the module: at 44 mm, depending on the fan, it’s likely to be a bit tight.
In short, what interests us here are the characteristics of the kit. Clearly, we’re dealing with a top-of-the-range package offering massive memory capacity. Clearly, 256 GB isn’t for everyone, and certainly not for gamers. No, here the kit is aimed at pros working on virtual machines or AI. In terms of frequency, we’re talking about a set running at 6,000 MT/s with CL32 latency. Once again, these capabilities have been validated on AM5 platforms with Ryzen 7 9800X3D Crosshair X870E Hero and Ryzen 9 9900X MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi.
In addition, a kit running at 7000 MT/s with timings of 38-50-50 has also been validated. This time we’re talking about a configuration based on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D MEG X870E GodLike, again from MSI.
Of course, this type of product will be anything but affordable. At the moment, the kits currently on sale with this capacity are based on 8 modules and cost more than €2,000!
